Cut them into small pieces by using a sharp. Be careful about NOT squeezing or pressing the grated cauliflower to dry out the extra water. Ingredients
- 2 cups rice
- ½ cup red lentil
- ½ cup moong dal
- 1 cup cauliflower florets
- ¼ cup carrot
- 1 tablespoon leek
- ¼ cup onion slice
- ½ cup potato
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 2 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 2 tablespoon clarified butter
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt as per taste
- 5-6 green chilis
- 4-5 bay leaves
Instructions
- Mix rice with lentils. Wash and rinse them very well. Keep it aside. Cut cauliflower, carrot, potato, leek, and slice onion. Keep them aside.
- Heat clarified butter in a deep pan. Add sliced onion and bay leaves to the oil. Stir it for 1 minute. Add ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric powder, chili powder, cumin powder, salt, and coriander powder to the oil. Stir and fry it for 2 minutes.
- Add rice and lentil to the pan. Stir and fry it very well. Fry until crispy. Add cauliflower, carrot, and potato to the rice. Mix them gently to the rice.
- Add 6 cups of hot water to the rice. Bring it to boil. Cover with a lid. Add leek and green chilies to the rice after 10 minutes.
- Cook until the water becomes dry. Uncover the lid. Season to taste with salt and cilantro leaves.
