Green banana is good for health. You can eat the green banana in many ways. You can fry or you can cook a green banana. Here I will describe two recipes with green banana. There are so many green banana recipes, banana dum and banana skin mashed is two of them. These recipes are healthy.

Green banana is a good source of fiber, vitamin, minerals, and it contains starch. This starch is helpful for controlling blood sugar, managed weight and lower blood cholesterol level. It is also a good source of pectin.

Some people do not like the taste of ripe banana, give them the green banana in this way.

Ingredients

  • 250g green banana
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 100g potato, boiled and crushed
  • 1 tablespoon green chili
  • 1 tablespoon onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoon cilantro leaves

Process

Step 1

Peel the green bananas with a sharp knife or vegetable peeler and slice to 1 cm size. Boil the slices in the water with turmeric powder and salt. When the banana slices are half boiled drain out the water.

Step 2

Heat oil in a frying pan and add boiled banana till the color is brown. Drain out the fried banana slices from the oil. Add cumin powder, onion slice, green chili, and lemon juice in the remaining hot oil. Stir and add one cup of water. When water boils add crushed potato and fried banana. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes covered with a lid.

Step 3

Add sliced cilantro leaves before turn off the burner. Turn off the burner. Take out the green banana recipe banana dum from the frying pan in a serving dish. Serve the banana dum with rice or bread or tortilla.

Ingredients for green banana recipes banana skin  mashed

  • 1 cup  green banana skin
  • 1 piece onion
  • ¼ cup prawn (small size)
  • 1 cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Process

Step 1

Boil green banana skin with a little bit of turmeric powder.

Step 2

Fry prawn with salt without oil. Smash banana skin with mortar and pestle.

Step 3

Smash prawn with mortar and pestle. Add prawn and banana skin altogether.

Step 4

Heat oil in a pan. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, chili powder, and salt. Add banana and prawn mixture to the condiments. Stir it until dry.

  • Serve banana skin mashed with white rice.
