Ingredients for bitter gourd fry
- 250 gm bitter gourd
- 50 gm potato
- 1 piece onion
- 3-4 pieces of green chilies
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons oil
How to cook bitter melon for diabetes
- Cut bitter gourd and keep it with salt for 15 minutes.
- Cut potato into julienne cut.
- Squeeze the bitter gourd very well with your hand and you will see water come out from the bitter gourd. The bitterness of bitter gourd will be less with this process. Drain out the bitter gourd water.
- Mix potato slice and bitter gourd.
- Wash it.
- Drained water very well.
- Add oil in a nonstick cooking pan.
- Add onion, bitter gourd, potato, salt, and green chilies.
- Stir it continuously.
- Fry it until brown.
- Take out the bitter gourd from the oil. Extra oil will be left.
- Your healthy bottle gourd fry is ready to serve.
- Serve it with white rice.

Ingredients for bitter gourd fry crispy
- 200 gm bitter gourd
- 50 gm potato
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon rice powder
- 1 tablespoon bengal gram powder
- ½ teaspoon hot spice powder
- 1 cup oil for deep fry
Process for bitter gourd deep fry
- Cut the bitter gourd and potato into ring size.
- Add salt and turmeric powder to the bitter gourd and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
- Wash bitter gourd and potato very well.
- Add Bengal gram powder, rice powder, chili powder, hot spice powder and little bit salt to the bitter gourd and potato.
- Heat oil in a non-stick deep pan over medium heat.
- Fry all bitter gourd and potato slices until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a colander to drain away oil drips.
- Arrange on an absorbent paper-lined tray to serve.
- Serve the bottle gourd crispy fry with rice or pulao.
